excuses, excuses

It's Saturday.

My head hurts. I'm nauseous. My sleep cycle is all messed up 'cause I slept from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. This is because my doctor doubled one of my anti-convulsants. I'll be okay in a week or two. Yeah, I'm whining.

The Storyteller is at a flea market with the Daddio, manning a table and doing all the money math that requires. The Gamer is off doing whatever he does at his mom's house on Saturdays. The Hero is drawing beautiful pages of stories in crayon, books full, complete with words he asked me to write on the blackboard for him to copy. I can't teach any of them. The Storyteller is... wandering around looking for something to do! Now that's someone I can teach.

I will throw myself into the fray by making the Scientist do some of the composition we're only an entire year behind schedule on. Maybe by the time we're done, the PreK'er will be bored with drawing and can take some reading instruction. Shortly after that I'll need to make dinner, but I can point the kids at Timez Attack while I do.

Oh. I told him we were going to do writing and he threw his arms in the air, said, "AURRRR!" and started crying. Now he has kicked a piece of furniture and run off to his room. That's a little brattier than normal. But I feel for him. It's not that writing is hard. It's that my medical issue interrupted his routine so I'm taking back what looked like a free day. You might kick something too.

Off to console, feed, negotiate a schedule for the rest of the day with, and then teach Writing With Ease Level 4 Week 3 to, the Scientist.
