things I previously thought of as useless

The Scientist isn't allowed Lego for a week, so he's playing with the first grader's math manipulatives. He has the entire table covered in pattern blocks and Cuisenaire rods, has designated each color/shape a particular resource (cannon balls, protein, etc), laid out bases and stations, and now he and the Storyteller are figuring out what to do for troops. Maybe those teddy bear counters will finally be used for something.
